LX Network Development uses Dell Poweredge Server sollutions for Web, E-Mail and Backup services. Servers run Xeon processors, redundant power supplies and SCSI harddrives in RAID configuration for maximum uptime and data loss prevention.

Operating Systems (OS)

We utilize Linux Open Source technology to run our systems. All technology is freely available to the public and information on what is in use will be provided upon request.

Client Rack Space

Gateway Services

A gateway (also called a router) allows multiple systems to access the internet, but not all routers are the same. Using an intuitive Linux Server and Gateway will allow additional security and features for your business network. Listed below are the highlights of the gateway LX Net Dev uses.

Firewall, Networking and Security:

This gateway will protect your companies network with three levels of security.It provides advanced protection and features on the network level with port forwarding, dmz and dns. On the protocal level, software such as peer-to-peer sharing (Kazaa, BitTorrent, eDonkey, etc.) is blocked to prevent download of unwanted software or files. Using intrusion detection and prevention will help provide defense against network threats on the application level.

VPN - Virtual Private Network:

Using 128bit encryption, the VPN services will allow remote offices & road warriors to securely connect the the office network. No third party software is needed for Microsoft Windows based systems. Works with Windows 98 and newer, including Vista.

Web Proxy and Content Filtering:

The included Web Proxy will help speed up network bandwidth and browsing. Coupled with authentication, internet access can be controlled and monitored. Content filtering is a flexible way to prevent unwanted access to adult content, online games, etc. by workstations within the network. Banner adds and pop-ups may also be blocked to help speedup webpage loads in the browser.

Database and Web Server:

Web based applications can also be installed on the gateway. Using Apache, PHP and MySQL allows your company to have private access to sensitive applications, such as invoicing and accounting, while allowing public access to web based security cameras without compromising network security with a DMZ or port forwarding.

File Sharing and Print Server:

Your company can now have centralized file sharing for workstations and servers. Access secured file shares with authentication by Windows File Sharing and FTP while denying access to those who do not need it. Network printers can be managed from the gateway as well, allowing only one location for printer setup to all workstations.

Anti-virus Protection:

The network gateway will scan all files from the file sharing and even scan any downloads from the internet for viruses and worms. Anti-virus updates are proformed daily to ensure the network is protected against the newest threats on the internet.

Backup Mission Critical Data:

Every network needs backup services. The gateway will act as your network backup hub for all important data. Mission Critical data can be securely synced to a remote location to ensure data is never lost.
